Poll: Happy Or Mad About Palmer Trade?

Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer has been traded to the Oakland Raiders, who were desperate for a quarterback with starter Jason Campbell out for the year, for a first-round pick and conditional second-round pick that reportedly could turn into a first-rounder.

What are your emotions?
Note: There is a poll embedded within this post, please visit the site to participate in this post's poll.

Are you happy Palmer is out of the AFC North or mad that the Bengals got so much in exchange?

On one hand, Palmer has tormented the Ravens in the past.

He owned a 9-4 career record against Baltimore. In those games, the two-time Pro Bowler threw for 3,202 yards, 15 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions(84.5 QB rating). Of Palmer’s 11 career fourth-quarter comebacks, four have come against the Ravens.

Palmer, 31, hadn’t done quite as well in recent meetings though.

In his last trip to M&T Bank Stadium, he completed 32 of 45 passes for 305 yards, but threw two interceptions in a Ravens win. In the previous meeting last year, he completed 16 of 35 passes for just 167 yards in a Bengals win.

Instead of potentially facing Palmer twice a year now, the Ravens would see him far less while he’s in the AFC West.

On the other hand, the Bengals got a lot for a quarterback that wasn’t even playing for them.

Cincinnati hauled in a first-round pick in 2012 and a conditional second-round pick in 2013 that could turn into a first-rounder. Those are picks that should help the Bengals restock talent.

It’s not that the Bengals have seemingly missed Palmer either. While he held out demanding a trade, Cincinnati drafted Andy Dalton in the second round of the NFL Draft this April. He has had a good start to his rookie year, throwing for 1,311 yards and seven touchdowns and helping the Bengals get off to a 4-2 start.

So what do you think?
